In my previous reflection, A Poem on Disappointment and Letting Go], I shared the heavy hush that follows a loss. But today, I found what happens when the silence lingers long enough to become a sanctuary...
The Root’s Resilience
The bloom has fallen,
scattered like a soft surrender
to the earth that once held its weight.
There is a grace in the going—
a silence that isn't empty,
but expectant and deep.
Below the surface,
where the world forgets to look,
the heart is busy being still.
It isn’t a passive waiting;
it is the heavy, holy work
of anchoring in the dark.
While the branches reach for what was,
the roots are drinking what is—
turning the "not yet" into
a steady, rhythmic pulse.
Look up into the shelter of the leaves—
a hidden nest, a cradled breath,
where life is tucked away from the wind.
It is the joy that finds the inner being
when we stop searching for the sun
and start trusting the shade.
And then, a whisper in the wild—
not a shout, but a steady soft green,
breaking through the heavy hush.
It is the heart’s new "yes,"
unfolding,
rhythmic,
undeniable.
The homecoming has begun.
In the rhythm of the Sanctuary, we learn that every ending is just the beginning of a deeper anchoring. To my Solid 10 and the Night Guardians: What is one small 'nest' of joy you’ve found in your own season of letting go?
Let’s share our whispers in the comments below.

Mesi for being here. I'm so curious—did the 'nest' in the leaves bring a little joy to your inner being today, too?
