The Fan Poem: Focusing on the feeling of being trapped in the air with two years of secrets.
Thirty Thousand Feet of Silence
(Inspired by The Mentalist S06E11)
"What do you think?" you ask, Leaning back in the leather seat,
As if we are just drifting on clouds Instead of colliding.
I thought you were gone forever.
I had buried the hope of you In the sand of that island you escaped to.
"I wasn't thinking," I mutter, But the cabin pressure is rising in my chest.
You look at me with those eyes, Claiming you know what’s best for my life.
But I stayed behind in the wreckage you left.
I have been with you for two years— Even when you weren't there at all.
